MOLE is a subject we are learning in chemistry right now. although we are not supposed to know any new material due to finals next week, we learned this with a song, inserted above. hope you enjoy it. finals are next week and im stresse dout. but when when i am finally done, i get to go to the happiest place on earth. aka DISNEYLAND. DECEMBER!!

yay, today is the first day of December. the first day of one of the awesomest months EVAAAH. and today, i had quite a day. it wasn't fantastic but it wasn't horrible. i retook the ions, bonds, lights test and got the 75% i needed. now i am .07% away from a b. yay. hopefully, i do better then a failing grade next test. alrighty, chem blog, it is my time to part so i will see you later.

NEW MOON!!

today is the day of new moon. a movie that everyone is excited about. i am but not as much as some others. anyway, chem is getting good/bad. on Monday i understood the lesson but on tues it was deeply confusing. oh well. i try my best and that is all that matters.

hopefully this new project raises my grade up. i am kind of excited for it. hopefully, it turns out well. i think i will go start it right now so i'll see you later.

ugh,

i hate chemistry. each time i think that i understand something i get proven wrong by failing my tests. i don't know what i'm doing wrong. i (try) to pay attention, i write down notes, i go to all the chem tutoring sessions, i ask questions and for help when i am totally clueless, i read the packet A LOT, and i read the book. so what am i doing wrong?? maybe i should (pay) attention not (try) to pay attention. rawr. chem u r making me stressed. hope you are happy. wait till my mom sees my grade, YOU'LL LOVE THAT.

I don't remember what happened this week except my failure on the test and that you, meaning the blog, was checked by my teacher. he said that i did a terrific job (or some word like that) you wanna bet i'm going to get a b. that is one of the maaannny things i don't get. a teacher of yours says, oh my, that is wonderful then they end up giving you a b. how is that right/possible? they should not give us false hopes. we should make a rule thats states that only teachers can say the word terrific, or anything of that sort, only if they are going to give us an A. thanks for understanding,

november!

guess what today is. it's november. probably the best month ever made. okay done celebrating. onto chemistry. on thursday, i was at a field trip and had to miss chemistry. When I went to class fri. it turned out that less than half our class showed up thurs. bahahaha. fri. we did worksheets and i had help from my teacher. i understand it. ;) now i just gotta finish my homework. talks to you later blog, you are slightly entertaining.

is today. it's very exciting. and i know its going to be fun. this week has been okay. it went by fast but in the same time slow. i had soooo much homework and i HAVE soo much homework. i got a c on the last test. i think thats it for now. i'm now going to enjoy my weekend with the dance and all. see you later.

Edit: i totally forgot to tell you about our totally awesome lab we had. we got to play with chemicals and fire to make cool light. it was really cool. when i tried to take a picture it wouldn't show up. oh well.

yeah, that's pretty much it. this week went by fast and we have a test next week. i really need to prepare although i know the material fairly well.

computer lab

hello dear friend,
today i am writing you from the computer lab. today we went there to do a graph and a spreadsheet. i never knew that google has a lot of stuff including spreadsheets and such. the spreadsheet we did was for the penny lab we did. it was fun. i never knew how much fun it was to play with pennys.
on my last post i told you i was going to retake a test. unfortunately, i was unavailable for the retake so i am going to retake it next Wednsday. wish we luck.

radioactivity

because we finished the chapter on matter we started on the chapter of radioactivity. i understand it well, but i am certain i need more help so i think i'm going to read the chapter a couple of times. all week we did worksheets and i understood them. the feeling of understanding something that is very challenging is great.
this weekend we recieved our progress reports. i did good but i know i can do better. the subjects that are really bugging me are chemistry and geometry. i am really gonna try now. which means im going to end this post because im going to go study and do more homework. =)

all about matter

hola,
back again. we took a test on matter that was okay. i was expecting it to be harder than it was.
and i still didn't do all that great. :[ so im going to retake it. this time i know what i did wrong and hopefully i do waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than i did before. tutoring really helped, Sarah, my tutor was great. i asked her all the questions i wanted and now i understand them.

isatest. really, it's a test?

this week in chemistry,
hm...

Monday: all day Monday, we fnished worksheets then turned them in.
as a ritual, i will repeat that my group is great.
after school, i went to tutoring. tutoring was not what i expected. last year i went to bio tutoring. there, we had one to one tutors who help you with homework amd are open to whatever questions you have. in chem tutoring, its all messy and not well organized. no offense. we just recieved a worksheet and checked answers on the back. it kind of helped but i prefer the one to one tutoring better.

Tuesday: on Tuesday there was a test. i was prepared but i am sure i didn't ace it. i forgot to add the units despite the lyrics, "then you simply have to write the unnnnits". the questions that i had to write the given for were waaaaaaaaaay harder then what we did in tutoring. i am confident that i didn't fail so that's good. my grade will improve before the grading period ends. (hopefully) yay! on Friday, we have another test. the one on the book. the book that we never opened in class. the book we never discussed in class. the book that we keep at home and have to write notes on at home. that book. the one where if we have a test on i'll fail. because I DON'T GET IT. we just write notes about it. how does that imply we are ready for a test??? okay, i am done whining. i am getting quite good at that lately. especially about chemistry.
after the test, we played with dry ice and bubbles. it was the funnest i had in all the classes of chemistry we had. we should do that often,Mr. Olson,play with bubbles. :]

chemistry is stressing me out. i am not very fond of it. i dislike it very much. in other words, i hate it. i gave it a try and chemisty failed to do good to me. this year i planned to do well. b's and above on my report card is all i wanted. i want to understand each subject, get good grades and to make me and my family members proud. but you chemistry, are not helping me reach my goal. i don't get why we have to learn this stuff to pass high school? why does science have math in it? i know, i know, quit whining Alia, just do your hardest. blah blah.

to get a b or higher, im going to attend tutoring. im not sure if it will help a whole lot, but lets just hope.


this week was a toughie. on Monday, i wanted to attend tutoring but i had to go get surgery so u didn't. thats all i rememebr about Monday. on Tuesday, ohhh Tuesday, i rememebr you. it was sooo long. we watched 2 movies, one on the powers if 10 and one on something chemistry like. i didn't really understand what the point of watching it. then we did a worksheet. it was not easy/ my group members helped me but im not sure what help means anymore. usually when i say help, it means they helped my short term memory understand it not my long term. so 5 minutes later, i forgot how to do the problem/explain to my other classmates who needed help. so next time we do a lab or work together imma have to learn it. or at least attept to understand it. ha!

periodic table

on block day, we did an interesting lab on the elements. We were taught how the elements were classified on the periodic table. they are grouped by many different ways. it was actually very fascinating. i know i said this before and at this point i will be ranting on, my group mates are awesome. they really help me understand the language of Chemistry. and i am VERY thankful for them. even though they are great, i am considering going to tutoring. i knew from the start of this year that this year will be VERY VERY challenging. but i also knew that i want to do well. so tutoring is the right thing for me. i think it will help my grade and my understanding of the subject. sometime the classroom isn't enough. 

today, we saw the videos we made on Thursday. the song we sang has been stuck in my head for AGES. the videos were really cool. i had a GREAT laugh. 

tonight is back to school night and maybe my parents will see YOU, Mr. Olson. i hope they don't say anything embarrassing/stupid. i know that i suck at Chemistry, thanks Mom. i realized that Chemistry is all math. practically. maybe that's why i'm no good. HA!

first quiz, ohhh joy

first, i would like to say that the quiz was okay. it was everything i thought it would be. but unfortunately, i thought i knew the changing units formula but i actually didn't. so i'm sure i got a horrific grade. =(

one of the days, i think Tuesday, we did a lab. i thought it was going to be hard but it was not. i had GREAT group mates who helped me understand what we are doing. shout out to my group. 

Lastly, I would like to say, this week went by reeeaaally fast so i don't remember much. sorry.

p.s. i think i have mentioned this before, but I don't understand why we are blogging about Chemistry. i would never have thought we would blog in Chem class. but as i am typing, i'm realizing that blogging is fun and enjoyable so i am kind of glad that we are. and plus, we waste class time every Friday. :))

mass and volume and stuff

hello bloggers, i was absent on the day of the actual lab(that has to do with mass and volume and stuff=)) so i cannot comment much but i got to do the finishing touches and i think the lab is cool slash has too much math.

writing a blog is kind of fun. but also very complicated. it's fun using every friday of class to do this though.


for homework each day in chemistry we read the book and make notes. this year, fortunately, i really like the book and i actaully understand it. 3 CHEERS FOR UNDERSTANDING THE BOOK! i think that this year will be very informative for me and fun. yet hard. which i totally expected.

Penny Lab

My group consisted of Jesica, Monica, and Angelica. We all put our pennies in the zinc and then put the zinc covered pennies in fire. The pennies changed into a gold color. I thought the lab was really cool and interesting.
